Sponsoring an artist or musician - what does that provide?

$100 - one month per person of support 

$300 - one quarter for individual or one month for a family of four

$1,200 - one year of support for individual member

$3,600 - one year of support for a family of four

This assistance allows our members to afford to go to checkups, dental cleanings, eye exams, get medicines they need, etc. It means that if/when a major medical emergency happens, they are not forced to choose between their health and potentially crippling debt. It enables them to remain healthy longer, so they can keep creatively contributing to the uniquely colorful expression of art and music that resides in Denton County, TX.

It also means doctors, nurses, and staff are paid for their expertise. And they, along with the wide variety of people who live in the Denton area, can continue to enjoy the fruit that creativity bears as they engage with it in nearly every corner of Denton.

It builds community.

DMAC is run by volunteers - some are artists, others just appreciators. We keep our overhead intentionally low at less than 5% of our annual budget (generally hovering around $100,000). That means that at least 95% of any donation goes directly to our mission. Any donation amount, large or small, has impact. A commitment to monthly recurring donations allow us to plan for the future, and DMAC has plans for the future! 

Denton is largely identified with the unique blend of art and music that thrive here. As the Denton County area has exploded with growth in recent years, the immediate effect has been more traffic, rising costs for things like housing and food, and fears over how it could shift the cultural identity. The long-term effects? That's up to us. 

More growth can mean more opportunities for artists and musicians to build a career. It can make room for more of them come here, stay here, and keep the creative culture of Denton strong and healthy. That is what DMAC strives to facilitate - healthy, creative, connected community.
