Make Reading Magical for Dallas-Area Kids

Hello, friends and supporters!

As a proud Readers 2 Leaders board member, I am excited to launch a personal fundraiser to support our mission of equipping students for success through the power of reading. At Readers 2 Leaders, we’re committed to ensuring that all students have equitable opportunities to thrive as both readers and leaders. With your help, we can make a lasting impact on the lives of the children we serve.

Why I’m Fundraising

Reading is magic. It unlocks confidence, curiosity, and the power to imagine a different future. That’s why I serve as Board Chair of Readers 2 Leaders, an organization that shows up every day for students across Dallas County, especially in under-resourced communities where the opportunity gap is greatest.

Facts & Figures

Readers 2 Leaders aims to achieve the following during the 2025-26 academic year and summer:

• Serve 1,600 students during the school year and summer;

• Serve 400 adults through literacy coaching and training programs;

• 85 percent of students will participate in 80 percent of sessions for 120 minutes of instruction per week; 

• 90 percent of students will make measurable growth in key early literacy skills as measured by an externally validated assessment;

• 89 percent of children will grow or maintain their reading skills during the summer

A Fun Twist!

If I hit my $5,000 goal, I’ll dress up as a classic children’s book character (think: Pete the Cat, the Cat in the Hat, or Curious George) and read to a group of students at R2L's Reading Buddy program and post it online for all to see.
