All donations will go directly towards Big Brothers Big Sisters’ 1:1 mentoring program. It costs over $1,200 to start and sustain a BBBS match. This included everything from background checks to ongoing match support to ensure the success of each mentoring relationship.
BBBS serves children from the age of 6 through high school, and in some cases into their first or second year of college. 86% of BBBS youth are from low to moderate income. 80% of youth served are Black or Hispanic.
The impact of these mentorships is tremendous, and the outcomes of the program are extremely successful:
● 97% of graduated enrolled in college, enlisted in the military or employed in their first
year post high school
● 98% of mentees graduate high school
● 93% of youth feel a sense of belonging, an important metric for mental health
● 88% of youth improved or sustained confidence in their ability for success in life
