I bring my experience to the Sci-Tech board to allow for overall improvement for the organization. I have helped with several non-profit organizations in the past and have watched them grow. With the rapid development of science and technology, I feel it is very important for the current and future generations to remain captivated to allow for better innovation in these fields. With my science and philanthropic event management background I feel I would be able to help organize events that would benefit the organization. I would also be able to help develop a stronger social media platform to allow for wider spread visibility of the organization. With the generous support of our partners we bring innovative learning to kids in North Texas to build their STEM skills and confidence and spark their interest in pursuing STEM careers. Research shows that students who envision a career in a STEM field at age 13 are two to three times more likely to earn college degrees in STEM, so we seek to inspire kids while they are in elementary and middle school. Since STEM jobs pay up to 40% more than non-STEM jobs, the spark that Sci-Tech provides helps to transform our participants’ lives by addressing career inspiration for their future economic stability. |
