Mr. Terry was a standout athlete in high school, which earned him a full football scholarship to the University of Louisville in 2014. But while chasing success on the field, life off the field began to unravel. He found himself battling addiction, and eventually made the difficult decision to step away and start over. He moved to Dallas and enrolled in the Adult Rehabilitation Ministry—a turning point that would mark the beginning of his transformation.
In the program, Mr. Terry got clean and sober and began to rebuild his life, piece by piece. Most importantly, he reconnected with his faith and renewed his relationship with Christ. Determined to move forward, he enrolled in Dallas College, earned his OSHA 30 and NCCER certifications, and developed practical skills in workforce readiness and financial literacy through the Oasis Center.
But Mr. Terry's journey wasn’t just about education and training—it was about healing and hope. At Oasis, he found more than resources—he found a community. A place grounded in faith, encouragement, and the belief in second chances. He was seen, supported, and surrounded by people who genuinely cared about his future.
Today, he is focused, driven, and stepping into his purpose with clarity, confidence, and a deep connection to God.
His story is a powerful reminder of what’s possible through faith, support, and opportunity. With your support, we can continue to walk alongside individuals like him—restoring lives, building futures, and strengthening communities.
