After 50 Years of Volunteerism, the VHF Community Resource Center will continue as an Information resource center dedicated to improving the quality of life in the community by promoting economic growth through various programs and town hall meetings with local City, County, and State officials to meet the needs of residents. Our core values revolve around promoting diversity and inclusivity, which we achieve through organizing webinars, podcasts, health fairs, job fairs, and business workshops. Additionally, we provide clear backpacks to students to ensure their safety as they return to school. While assisting families in our Legal Clinics with concerns;
- Short-term and long-term effects of divorce on child well-being
- Effects of family violence on children
- Child behaviors and emotional states during and after divorce
- How to respond to the child’s needs
- Communication strategies to reduce conflict
- Cooperative co-parenting
- Reconciliation as an optional outcome
- What to do in cases of child abuse or family violence. Our resource center supports the community by assisting students with jobsearch as well as others. We offer free legal clinics to provide recidivism
counseling, job fairs to connect job seekers with employment opportunities, and free community workshops and one-on-one teaching for guidance and support for both socially and economically disadvantaged individuals (SEDI) and non-SEDI. Our main goal is to enhance existing businesses and establish new ones, ultimately leading to more job opportunities.
Our resource center has been serving as a business incubator for twenty years, partnering with Federal Agencies GSA, SBA and State agencies TX DOT and TX HUB. We recently celebrated as a testament to our commitment to helping the community. With our commitment to assisting all socially and economically disadvantaged individuals (SEDI) and non-SEDI participants, receive one-on-one information on enhancing their existing business or starting a new one. The future of having great Cities and
Communities rests on the success of leaders, teachers and parents in educating
our next generation of entrepreneurs, skilled workers and professionals
