Help send Hope Packages to kids when a parent has cancer

I’m fundraising for Little Hearts of Hope so children can receive free, mailed Hope Packages—monthly play- and art-therapy activities with a parent guide—plus ongoing prayer support.

Why I’m Raising Support

When a family hears the word cancer, it affects so much more than the person receiving the diagnosis. It changes life for the entire family—and for children, it can bring emotions they may not understand or know how to talk about.

That’s one of the reasons Little Hearts of Hope is so special to me.

I’ve had the privilege of being involved with this organization and seeing the heart behind its mission: helping children whose parent or primary caregiver is battling cancer feel supported, included, and reminded that they are not walking through this experience alone.

Little Hearts of Hope provides children with monthly Hope Packages designed specifically to help them work through the emotions that can come with having a parent facing cancer. Through activities, conversation starters, encouragement, and resources for parents, these packages create opportunities for families to talk about some very big feelings in ways children can understand.

And perhaps one of the things I love most: the program is always completely free to the families who need it.

For North Texas Giving Day, my goal is to raise $2,000 by September 17th.

What does $2,000 mean for Little Hearts of Hope? It can help provide 40 monthly Hope Packages to children whose families are navigating a cancer diagnosis.

That’s 40 opportunities to put encouragement, meaningful activities, and helpful resources directly into the hands of a child who needs them.

Every dollar donated stays with the nonprofit and helps Little Hearts of Hope continue providing these programs at no cost to families.

What Your Gift Makes Possible

• $40 funds activity supplies for one Hope Package, on average.

• $50 helps cover the materials and shipping for a child’s monthly Hope Package.

• $100 supports a sibling pair for one month.

• $650 covers approximately one month of program shipping at our current volume.

And every gift matters. A $10, $25, or $50 donation combined with others brings us one step closer to another Hope Package and another child knowing there are people in their corner.

A Little More About Hope Packages

Families enroll in the Hope Package program for one year. Each month focuses on an emotion children commonly experience during a parent's cancer journey—including fear, anger, sadness, and hope.

Packages include age-appropriate activities for the child along with a parent letter that helps caregivers guide conversations at home. Everything is designed to be portable, approachable, and easy for families to use wherever they are.

Little Hearts of Hope also provides prayer support and helps connect families with additional resources within their communities.
