"The play's the thing, wherein I'll catch the conscience of the king"
(Hamlet, Act II, Scene ii)
Shakespeare Dallas is one of the oldest theatre organizations in DFW, making accessible theatre a reality for more than 50 years.
In 2024, we welcomed over 30,000 patrons at the Samuell-Grand Amphitheatre. Each season, nearly 50% of tickets are given away for free, ensuring everyone can enjoy theatre under the stars. Last year, we served over 12,000 students through education programs in 2024, with 90% from low to moderate income homes. Since its inception in 1984, our education program has reached more than 600,000 students.
For an organization that aims to provide accessible, professional, inspiring theatre to all, every gift makes a tangible difference.
- A single $20 gift ensures that “all the world’s a stage” by providing one free ticket for a culturally-underserved North Texan to enjoy Shakespeare in the Park.
- A $50 gift answers the call “O, for a muse of fire!” by supplying a classroom with study guides that ignite curiosity and prepare students to dive into Shakespeare before seeing the play live.
- A $100 gift reminds us that “a merrier hour was never wasted there” by offsetting the cost of discounted admission for a family to experience the joy of live theatre together.
- A $250 gift makes true that “we are such stuff as dreams are made on” by helping purchase essential set, prop, and costume materials that transform the stage into a world of imagination.
- A $500 gift brings to life the command “give me music” by underwriting sound and lighting equipment that make open-air performances possible for thousands of North Texans each season.
- A $2,500 gift affirms that “all’s well that ends well” by sponsoring an entire evening of Shakespeare in the Park, supporting artist fees, production costs, and free ticket access for the community.
This year, I'm proud to support the people's theatre not only as a fan and a patron, but as a board member.
I hope you'll join me.
