Life in Deep Ellum is an inclusive, faith-based cultural center in the heart of Deep Ellum. With over twenty years of history, our community is a vibrant gathering place for people on the margins. We gather around the arts, good coffee, meaningful conversation, and community service. We believe the world is a better place when we gather across differences to build impactful partnerships. As a non-profit, we creatively utilize our facility to enhance the good work of artists, business leaders, and non-profits in our city. By offering discounted event rentals, an amazing cafe (Mokah Coffee and Tea), affordable and innovative co-working space, and a dynamic art gallery (Umbrella Gallery) we make room for the next great idea to become a reality. The four pillars of Life in Deep Ellum are MUSIC, COMMUNITY, ART, AND COMMERCE. Our four walls offer belonging, connection, and inspiration. Our faith in Christ is the energetic core of what we do but we don't come with an agenda. We are unapologetically inclusive to LGBTQ people. We are more concerned with holy relationships built in Christ's love than traditional doctrine. We want to know one another without the limiting biases and distractions holding us back. We believe we really are stronger together -- especially when we are willing to share space, exchange new ideas, and deepen our spiritual commitment to justice and belonging for all people.
In celebration of NORTH TEXAS GIVING DAY, we are lifting up a dream! We need funds to kickstart the operational costs for the next chapter of our cultural center. We cannot provide accessible cultural inspiration for Deep Ellum without the investment of Dallas as a whole. By hiring a full-time cultural center director, we could host more community events and creative programming. Your funds would also support our basic operational costs like utilities and staff payroll. By strengthening our overall budget, we can enhance the culture of Deep Ellum in amazing new ways. We need help getting there. If you want to see a more vibrant Deep Ellum and a more inclusive Dallas, consider investing in Life in Deep Ellum TODAY! Raise your hands, raise a prayer, and lift up a dream with us as we begin our next chapter.
