I’ve been #1 fundraiser for 5 straight years—but Lauren York thinks she can steal my crown 👀. Spoiler alert: not on our watch. Pitch in and help me keep it!

Many of you know how much Shakespeare Dallas means to me. For nearly two decades, I’ve poured my time, energy, and heart into this organization. I walked in the door as an intern fresh out of college—and now, all these years later, I have the privilege of leading it. This company has shaped me as much as I’ve shaped it. It’s been my teacher, my community, and my home.

What makes it so special? Shakespeare Dallas produces theatre that is affordable, accessible, and alive. More than half our tickets are free, and thousands of students each year experience their first live performance with us. As Shakespeare wrote: “We know what we are, but know not what we may be.” 🌱 For many students, a matinee or a talkback is the spark that opens up new possibilities.

That’s why I’m asking for your support on North Texas Giving Day. Your gift truly makes an impact:

• 🎟️ $20 provides a free ticket for someone who otherwise couldn’t attend.

• 📚 $50 equips a classroom with study guides to dive into Shakespeare’s language.

• 👨‍👩‍👧 $100 helps a family experience live theatre together.

• And every dollar keeps theatre under the stars available to all.

Now, for the fun part: for the past five years, I’ve proudly held the crown 👑 as the top Shakespeare Dallas fundraiser. This year, my dear friend Lauren York is trying to unseat me. To which I say: “Once more unto the breach, dear friends, once more!” We cannot let her take the title.

So I’m asking you to give in my honor— because you believe in arts access, because Dallas deserves theatre that reflects its whole community, or simply because you don’t want me to lose to Lauren.
