Moo Moo was owner surrendered to a extremely overcrowded high kill Texas Shelter due to her health. She was there 2 weeks when she started bleeding profusely from her nose and having difficulty breathing. She was immediately put on the euthanasia list and had until the end of the day to get rescued. We could not ignore the shelters plea and got her out and immediately to the emergency veterinary hospital. Unfortunately she is high Heartworm positive and tick borne diseases, emaciated, 2 bullets in her body, severe ear infections, skin infection, intestinal parasites and overall poor health. She was bleeding from her lungs due to pulmonary hypertension from advanced Heartworm disease. Moo Moo is about 8 years old and a really sweet, mild mannered purebred Lemon English Pointer. After months of touch and go and a few more trips to the ER, a full cardiac workup and a slow and cautious approach to treat her Heartworm disease, we were able to save her life. She also has had her regular vetting of vaccines, dewormer, ear infections treated, microchip and when she its safe to have surgery she will get spayed. We are hopeful she will make a full recovery and find a wonderful, loving home. Her vet/ER bills are well over $5,000 to date.
