Mayra's Fundraiser- Journey Forward Mentoring

I grew up in a community much like Oak Cliff—a cultural bastion, home to talented young people, and shaped by generations of hard work and the power of community.

As a first-generation grad, I learned that talent is abundant, but access to opportunity is scarce. Education changed the trajectory of my life because mentors, educators, and a community of people invested in my potential.

That experience is part of why I am proud to serve on the Board of Journey Forward Mentoring. I believe deeply in nurturing the brilliance that already exists within our communities and ensuring young people have the mentorship, resources, and opportunities to pursue what is possible.

Students cannot bloom without being rooted in support! Let's tend to the garden by investing in college access and workforce mentorship for the journey forward!
