Puppy Frieda was found laying on the side of the road after she was hit by a car. A good Samaritan found her and Brought her home. She is one of our foster homes and asked if we could please help her. Of course we said yes we can. She was taken to the ER Vet and hospitalized overnight. They did Xrays (broken rear leg), Bloodwork (severely anemic), Fecal test (full of intestinal parasites), IV fluids and medications including pain meds, antibiotics, dewormer as well as a soft cast placed on her rear broken leg. She was discharged from ER and within 48hrs of being home she broke with Parvo Virus and was immediately taken back to ER Vet. They diagnosed her with Parvo and she had to be hospitalized. She became very lethargic and her diagnosis was not looking good but with aggressive treatment including a plasma transfusion she began to perk up. She was hospitalized for 5 days in the ER Vet. She was finally stable enough to be discharge and is recovering in her foster home. She will need continuous care with her broken leg (weekly soft cast changes), core vaccines and basic veterinary care. We were not expecting the Parvo diagnosis but we are committed to saving her life and finding her a loving home when she is healthy.
