Maya Osorto for NTX Giving Day 2026!

I became a Hendrick scholar in 2023. 

I attend Texas A&M University and am graduating with a bachelor’s degree in Construction Science in May 2027.

After I graduate, I would like to work in the construction industry building healthcare facilities. I was able to contribute to the beginning of a behavioral health project in Austin this summer, as well as an addition to the Texas NeuroRehab Center. This recent internship experience confirmed that I do indeed want to work on healthcare projects!

My long-term goal is to become a professor. I want to go to graduate school to learn how people learn and what motivates them to learn so that I can be a compassionate and very helpful professor.

HSF has made a difference in my life by connecting me with a wonderful mentor and team who check in on me, praise me for my achievements, and support me through difficult times. I also love the opportunities they give us to connect with fellow Plano students, serve our community, and learn valuable life skills.
