About Us

At Saving Pyrs in Need, we’re passionate about giving Great Pyrenees dogs a second chance at life. Our incredible team of volunteers rescues Pyrs from shelters, ensures they receive full veterinary care, and places them in loving foster homes where they can heal and thrive. While in foster care, we get to know each dog’s unique personality so we can match them with the perfect forever family.

We work tirelessly behind the scenes—transporting dogs, screening adoption applications, visiting potential adopters, attending public events, and spreading the word through social media and community outreach. We’re also committed to educating the public about this majestic breed and the importance of spaying and neutering to prevent unwanted litters.

Every Pyr we save is more than just a rescue—they’re part of our mission to create lasting, loving matches and countless “Happy Tails” for both dogs and their new families.

Foster Homes

Shelters across North Texas are constantly full—and that’s where you come in. Fostering gives a homeless dog a second chance and provides you with a truly rewarding experience. SPIN covers all the essentials—food, vet care, medications, and supplies—while you provide a safe space, a caring heart, and your time. Whether you prefer a playful puppy, a mellow adult, or a sweet senior, there’s a Great Pyrenees waiting to become your next foster friend.

Volunteer With SPIN Rescue

It takes a village to rescue and rehome these gentle giants—and we need yours! Whether you’re driving dogs to safety, helping out at events, conducting home visits, or simply sharing your Pyr with the public, every effort counts.
