SiNaCa Studios School of Glass and Gallery

A nonprofit organization

SiNaCa Studios was founded by five local glass artists in 2007. The organization's initial focus were: First, bringing the glass art community together to hold exhibitions, promote glass as an artistic medium, and generate funds toward founding a school. Second, use the funds raised to open a facility designed to impact the community through glass arts. Third, leverage the new facility to provide accessible, educational, and affordable experiences for the general public, as well as teach courses to share the traditions and techniques of all disciplines of studio glass.

In 2010, an old gas station full of natural light within the "Near Southside" area of Fort Worth was chosen and opened to the public on January 1, 2011. At that time, classes were offered, students enrolled, and the operations of SiNaCa Studios became real. In year two enrollment increased, programs grew, and we began to expand programs focused in Arts and Culture and Education.

In the third year we placed our priorities on further fulfilling our mission by planting deeper roots in our community through expanded philanthropic outreach. Below are the main goals we have achieved to this point, all which took a part in shaping the face of our organization.

Moving from an all-volunteer staff to our first salaried position in 2013
Establishing collaborative programming and effective partnerships with other charitable organizations
Launching outreach programming in all three hot glass disciplines offered at our studios
Creating positive partnerships with local schools, colleges, and universities
Expanding partner programming in Education, Arts and Culture, and Health and Wellness

SiNaCa Studios has grown exponentially since formal inception in 2008. We have maintained our existence through perseverance and dedication, expanding only as quickly as our resources allow. Through grants, private donations and partnerships, our educational outreach programs continue to grow and positively impact our community.

Our Needs

SiNaCa Studios continued growth continues to create the need to increase capacity. Our need to sustain a high quality staff as we implement our plans for growth and expansion remains among our top priorities. Team work makes the dream work!!
Our plans for growth include a campaign to build and maintain a mobile glassblowing studios to extend our reach in the community and allow for additional engagement and outreach programming. Our plans also include a capital campaign to prepare us for our future home coming in 2026. In partnership with ArtSpace out of Minneapolis Minnesota and the Near Southside Arts District in Fort Worth, Texas, SiNaCa Studios is planning for expanded studios facilities and exhibition space. Planning is under way on both endeavors.
