The School of Science and Engineering Magnet (SEM) at  Yvonne A. Ewell Townview Magnet Center has a unique set of programs with an accelerated STEM focus and is ranked the #3 public high school in Texas and #23 public high school in the nation by U.S. News and World Report.  SEM received the 2022 National Blue Ribbon School Award.  Students have the opportunity to take multiple AP classes and the school has a 100% graduation rate.  SEM is a Title 1 School in DISD.

The SEM Parent Teacher Student Association (PTSA) purposes are to promote the welfare of the SEM students in school and community, to bring into closer relation the home and the school, to facilitate intelligent cooperation between parents and teachers in the education of students, and to develop between educators and the general public such united efforts as will secure for all youth the highest advantages in physical, mental, social, and education. 

Mission

The Science and Engineering Magnet High School is a learning community established to provide students with a rigorous college preparatory, academic and technical program relating to the sciences, mathematics and engineering fields.

Needs

Funds raised through North Texas Giving Day will be put towards our general fund programming, including social activities, mental health activities and support for our students, faculty programs and teacher appreciation, capital campaign/building needs (study areas, student breakout rooms), speaker series programming, student club assistance and more.
