Santa Clara of Assisi Catholic Academy (SCCA) is a Hidden Gem in the Southern Sector of Dallas — near Loop 12 and I-30 at the crossroads of Dallas, Irving, Duncanville, & Grand Prairie. Our beautiful, secluded campus is surrounded by nature. Founded in 1994 in response to the local community's desire for Catholic education, SC has nurtured its students in the sacraments of the Catholic faith and fostered strong academic instruction ever since.

We are proud to be the only Catholic school in the diocese of Dallas offering a Dual-Language Program. Research shows that dual-language students often outperform peers academically over time — especially in reading and math. Our students learn in both English & Spanish every day — starting as early as PK3. SCCA retains a Multinational Faculty and Staff representing many countries including Africa, Peru, El Salvador, Philippines, Mexico, and the United States. Each team member has been vetted and selected due to their Personal Dedication to strong academics, bilingualism and Catholic formation. Our teachers receive expert training in Data-Driven Instruction and a Continuous Improvement Model, so children get improved instruction every year.

Faith is at the Center of our work at SC. Students pray daily, attend weekly mass and devotionals, take religion class, receive explicit instruction in the virtues & have opportunities to participate in liturgy — reading the Gospel, singing in the choir, and serving at the altar. In our Tight-Knit Community teachers & staff know every child by name. Parents feel it is like an extension of their home life— warm, safe, and grounded in faith. Santa Clara is a place where Catholic faith is alive, not just in words, but in daily practice!

Future-ready in Innovation and Technology, each student has exclusive use of a 1-1 Chromebook or tablet. Every classroom is equipped with a state-of-the-art SmartBoard to ensure technology integration in all subjects. Our unconventional and beautiful outdoor classroom provides an opportunity for students to not only learn about the environment but also to connect to nature in this avant-garde learning space. We value development of Musical and Artistic Ability at SCCA, as can be observed through our choir program and elective class offerings. All SCCA students have the opportunity to explore and develop through a stimulating daily rotation of Art, PE, STEM and Music.

Our students' physical strength is prioritized through regular participation in Physical Education classes and opportunities to participate in competitive sports such as volleyball, soccer, and more thoughout the year in our Athletics Program.

At SCCA we provide an amazing  opportunity for children  to grow up not merely bilingual, but biliterate, confident, & prepared for a global world! Families do not have to sacrifice their faith or culture for a high-quality education. Please visit our  Santa Clara Academy website  for more information on academics and enrollment.

Giving Activity

Mission

Our mission is to support the full growth of each person in a bilingual community of academic excellence and catholic values.

Our vision is to graduate bilingual leaders who will have a life-long relationship with Christ and have the virtues, knowledge and skills needed to serve God and their community.

Needs

1. Student Experience

SCCA seeks to upgrade the student experience for both current and potential students throughout programs that support academic excellence, innovation and creativity.

Due to our belief in the development of the whole child, our campus seeks to both enhance current programs with materials and support as well as initiate new undertakings to improve student experience. Some examples of potential current and future uses for these funds include expansion of the garden program, athletics, science & STEM nights, aftercare activities, clubs, specialized instructor stipends, field trips, preparation for mass participation, student planner usage to aid organizational skills, reading incentive programs, positive behavior incentives, decodable readers and other instructional materials, phonics programs, tuition gap assistance, support staff hours, transportation, marketing, audio-visual equipment, playground equipment, or facility improvements.

2. Highly Qualified Teachers and Support Staff

We all know the heart and soul of instruction in any school is it's teachers. A vast body of educational research confirms that teachers are the most influential component of instruction, with a greater impact on student achievement than other school-related factors. This influence extends beyond test scores to affect students' social, emotional, and long-term success. Among all school-based factors, a teacher's quality is the most important for student achievement. The RAND Corporation estimates that a teacher's effect on math and reading scores is two to three times that of any other school factor, including facilities, services, and leadership.

There are many reasons teachers and support staff are attracted to a campus and continue to stay longterm. For example, out of dedication, many teachers spend their own hard-earned money purchasing supplies and additional student materials. Ensuring the campus workroom is stocked with plenty of resources teachers use in their classrooms is one way to improve the teacher and staff experience at Santa Clara. Other ways may include facility improvement and beautification, stipend opportunities, performance pay, stronger staffing, celebrations and much more.

At SCCA we are committed to the recruitment and retention of high quality teachers and support staff. We intend to use these funds to do just that!
