Nurture Wildlife, Inspire Wonder at
North Texas Gives to Animals: May 17th - 31st
🦎 Animal Ambassadors: Over 100 rescued and non-releasable Animal Ambassadors call River Legacy Nature Center home. These animals inspire learning and compassion.
👧 Education: Thousands of children and adults connect with wildlife through hands-on, heart-first experiences.
💚 Care & Enrichment: Daily feedings, habitat upkeep, medical attention, and enrichment activities keep our animal ambassadors healthy and thriving.
Why It Matters: When people meet our turtles, snakes, ferrets, and more, they don’t just learn, they fall in love with nature. And that love leads to lasting change.
YOU make that possible.
Because of YOU:
✨ Animals receive lifelong care.
📚 Students experience unforgettable lessons.
🌍 Conservation begins with connection.
Please GIVE May 15th - 31st to the North Texas Gives to Animals Campaign! Your gift provides care for our animals and inspires thousands more to protect wildlife and wild places.
River Legacy Foundation helps people fall in love with nature! You'll DISCOVER something new each visit. Each year our naturalists and teachers guide 15,000+ school children on Field Trips. For many of these students, it is their first walk in the woods. Children go on a hike in the woods, meet animal ambassadors (ferrets, snakes, and turtles, oh my!) and explore what is living around a decomposing tree! These experiences are wonder-filled and wonderful! Your donation makes this possible. We could not do all this without you!
River Legacy needs your donation to connect children to nature with hands-on/minds-on STEM education.
We need your donation to:
- provide Field Trips for thousands of north Texas school children.
- care for the animals who delight and engage visitors.
- bring exciting visiting exhibits to the Nature Center.
Nature is for EVERYONE!
Our intention is to encourage people from every nation, race/ethnicity, belief, gender, sexual identity, disability, and culture to find their unique and important role in the environment.
We want all people to feel respected and valued for their unique contributions to our mission. This informs our guiding principles and defines our relationship with guests, students and families, who trust and believe in the mission of River Legacy Foundation in ways that are meaningful to them.
River Legacy Foundation does not and shall not discriminate on the basis of race, color, religion (creed), gender, gender expression, age, national origin (ancestry), disability, marital status, sexual orientation, or military status, in any of its activities or operations.
