For 30 years, River Legacy Foundation has inspired children, families, and our community to discover, explore, and protect the Trinity River and its surrounding natural areas through immersive STEM learning, unforgettable encounters with more than 100 Animal Ambassadors, and 1,300 acres of beautiful parkland.

Young learners hear the rustling of leaves when they hike in the woods. They meet animal ambassadors (ferrets, snakes, and turtles, oh my!) They WONDER at the decomposers on the forest floor! These experiences are WONDER-filled and WONDERrful! Your donation makes these moments of WONDER possible. We could not do all this without you!

Funds for Hands-On STEM Education
Each year, more than 14,000 learners discover the wonder of nature through hands-on STEM field investigations at River Legacy. Program fees cover only a portion of the true cost of providing exceptional educators, engaging curriculum, scientific equipment and meaningful exploration outdoors.
Your gift helps close the gap—keeping these experiences affordable and accessible while inspiring the next generation of scientists, nature lovers and environmental stewards.
Funds for Scientific Specimens
Scientific specimens allow children to see and touch animals up close, make observations and discover details they might otherwise miss. Some animals—like nocturnal owls—may not appear until long after our students are asleep!
Our specimens are well-loved and well-worn. Your gift will help replace and expand our collection, creating hands-on moments of wonder for years to come.
Classroom Furniture – $1,000 As we celebrate our 30th anniversary, much of our Nature School furniture is also just as old. Please help update classroom furniture to give young learners the best learning environment possible.
Trail Markers – $500 - These small but powerful markers will connect our Discovery Trail to our educational apps. Please help turn every hike into an interactive learning adventure.
