Refuge Counseling Resources

A nonprofit organization

For over 8 years, Refuge Counseling Resources has been providing hope and help to individuals and families, regardless of insurance or ability to pay, from all over the western half of the metroplex: from Cleburne to Colleyville, Grapevine to Grand Prairie, Keller to Kennedale, Saginaw and Alvarado to South Arlington and Mansfield. Our desire is that no one allows financial concerns to keep them from getting help.

Over 80% of our clients pay 0-40% of our stated fees, and of the remaining 20%, less than 5% pay the full stated fees.

Professional, confidential services include counseling, coaching, assessments, student advocacy in schools, mediation, training, workshops and seminars. The staff is eager to meet you, to find out how they can assist you, and to encourage you to know that "There is HOPE and There is HELP."

Our Needs

Therapy dogs can have calming, healing, and therapeutic effects on people of all ages. These loving creatures have been known to reduce stress and anxiety while lifting moods.

Sophie, our sweet therapy dog, has had to retire because of medical reasons. Instead of being able to give her special kind of care to those around her, she now needs it.

But Sophie's important work must go on. The cost of securing, training, and caring for a therapy animal becomes expensive. This is where our North Texas Giving Day donors help us tremendously. The money raised through Giving Day will go toward this necessary endeavor. Plus, all of the money raised over the amount needed will still go toward vital therapy tools such as coping kits and assessments.

Mission

Everyone needs someone sometimes. And, sometimes we need a some-thing. Very often, therapy dogs are just what is needed. They can have calming, healing, and therapeutic effects on people of all ages. These loving creatures have been known to reduce stress and anxiety while lifting moods.

Refuge Counseling Resources wants you to know that though a good friend can help carry a burden or stand up in your defense (Ecc 4:9-12), sometimes our burdens, worries, fears, or memories are more than we want our friends to know about, and we begin to lose hope with the thought that there is no one to help us.

In part, Refuge is established to provide therapy, coaching, education, alternative dispute resolution, and student advocacy. We do so regardless of insurance coverage or ability to pay. If requested, we offer services from a Christian world view. It is essential to our mission to teach, develop, and enhance interpersonal (with others) and intrapersonal (within self) skills to members of our communities to help provide healing. There is Hope and There is Help.
