At Project Transformation North Texas, we believe every dream matters — and every child deserves the chance to reach their full potential. Through literacy, mentorship, and love, we’re helping young dreamers become tomorrow’s leaders.

Project Transformation North Texas (PTNT) was founded in 1998 in Dallas, TX to transform communities by engaging children, college-age young adults, and churches in purposeful relationships. Today, over 90 young adults mentor more than 500 children and youth, grades 1 - 12 at 8-9 summer sites and 2-3 afterschool sites annually in North Texas. PTNT's programming is designed to remove poverty-related obstacles to academic and social opportunity during the crucial time when children are out of school (afterschool and summer). Utilizing a combination of best practices as well as data-driven decision making, the program encourages healthy development and improves academic success. Through mutual relationships that transform, Project Transformation North Texas is building up the next generation of leaders.

Among the many results we deliver, one of our most significant outcomes is that at least 97% of the children whom we serve avoid the “summer slide” by maintaining or improving their reading levels during the summer and gain back skills lost due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Mission

As the founding and largest chapter of a national network, Project Transformation North Texas' mission is to transform communities by engaging children, college-age young adults, and churches in purposeful relationships.
