$50,000 Goal

PrideRock Wildlife Refuge is a safe haven and shelter for wildlife that have been abused, abandoned, confiscated, neglected or that can no longer be properly cared for by their owners, for whatever reason. Our Primary focus is currently Lions, Tigers, Cougars, a Hyena, Bears, Wolves, & Wolf Hybrids. We are located on 9 acres of land, about thirty miles east of Dallas in Kaufman county, Texas. All of our rescues have found their 'forever home' at PrideRock, and will be with us to the end of their days.

We are not open to the public, we do not profit from admission or exhibition of our animals, and we do not breed or broker our animals.

PrideRock creates species-appropriate enclosures with enrichment and recreational areas for its residents, with each animal being given specific    dietary  and nutritional provisions, as well as veterinary care.

Our purpose online is to make the public aware of the crisis so many wildlife species in this nation face, and the surging need for safe sanctuaries to shelter those born into captivity and unable to survive in the wild.

The Projects and Fundraisers on this site will  help you understand what is required to properly care and provide for these magnificent creatures and encourage your support of PrideRock by donating directly to the shelter, adopting an animal, and/or volunteering to work at the sanctuary.

Mission

PrideRock’s mission is to aid in the prevention of animal cruelty by providing a home for unwanted and abused wild animals. Each accepted animal is given our solemn promise to be safe and cared for during the remainder of their lives. Big cats, bears, and other exotic wildlife were never intended to be pets, which has often led to a tragic end for the animal, the owner, or both.

We spare no expense to provide anything possible for our animals’ well-being, and in order for us to accomplish our mission, we must create enclosures for each species of animal that calls PrideRock home. These enclosures include recreational and enrichment areas to help maintain the activity requirements for the health of the individual species. Each animal receives species-specific diets and nutritional supplements as needed, and veterinary care is also available.

It’s not enough to just take care of our animals, as we see that it’s also our duty to educate the public and spread the word as to why we exist. While PrideRock is a private facility and not open to the public, we provide educational opportunities through different programs, internships, group projects, and volunteering.

Needs

This year for North Texas Giving Day, we’re seeking to raise $50,000 to help with the improvements and updates needed on our property. Rather than break ground on new animal pens, our hope is to renovate existing vacant enclosures so that we have a beautiful new home waiting for an animal in need.

We also are hoping to purchase a Skid Steer tractor to help improve the day-to-day operations at PrideRock making tasks more efficient. This tractor would assist with the transportation of large deliveries through our front gate to digging and reworking paths and driveways that keep our property in pristine condition.

Lastly, these funds would go toward an additional gate to our property that would streamline our process of clearing tree and foliage debris.

With your financial support on Sept. 21, 2023, you could make these projects a reality for PrideRock and further assist in our mission in the prevention of animal cruelty by providing a home for unwanted and abused wild animals.
