$150,000 Goal

For 60 years, Preston Hollow Presbyterian School has been dedicated to educating children of average to superior intelligence with mild to moderate learning differences in grades K-6th.

The types of learning differences served by our school include reading disorder (dyslexia), auditory processing disorder, oral language disorder, written language disorder, and mathematical disability.

Being a small school allows us to build a close community enabling our highly trained and caring faculty to communicate with families consistently and respond to the needs of our students.

Our multi-sensory, research-based curriculum provides an opportunity for each student to be challenged and excel. Students are divided into smaller skill-based groups for core academic subjects and prescriptive remediation.

The school was founded in 1962 in response to the needs of the Dallas community as the first outreach mission of Preston Hollow Presbyterian Church. PHPS is a non-profit, private coeducational day school accredited by Cognia, formerly AdvancEd.

Mission

The mission of PHPS is to provide a caring and vital learning community for bright, learning different students that cherishes and supports them while challenging them to achieve their full potential and preparing them for a strong academic future.

Needs

The PHPS Fund is our annual request to our parents, grandparents, alumni families and school friends to financially support the ever-changing needs of our school.

The first allocation of funds collected is to help bridge the gap between our annual tuition and the actual cost of educating a student, which is currently $1,200 per year per student. Your donation may go to purchase new classroom readers, new classroom technology or a field trip.

Our curriculum director is constantly researching best practices and techniques to teach our students. Over $70,000 was spent in 2022-23 on new and continuing programs to meet our students' needs. Your donation may be used to fund an annual online subscription, an in-house event to reinforce a reading program or to purchase math manipulatives.

After a complex security audit, we have installed new security cameras and a new secure sign-in system for all visitors to campus. We purchased a new radio system so that teachers may be constantly in contact with our front office and our security officer. Your donation helps to offset the ongoing cost of these security measures.

These areas are just examples of the expenses that PHPS faces yearly. While these outlays are not necessarly exciting, they are vital to the efficient and safe operation of our school.

Lives are being changed at PHPS.
