For the incarcerated individual to turn his life around and become a productive member of the community is a win for everyone. Each year over 600,000 incarcerated individuals are released. 76% will be rearrested within five years.
In the United States taxpayers spend over $80 billion dollars a year on incarceration.
To break this devastating cycle requires developing life skills, finding housing, and above all, job training with an employer who won't see only a record. PREP provides all of that and more. The PREP diversion program is a powerful instrument of Criminal Justice and Prison Reform, designed to reduce the rates of recidivism, decrease prison populations, lower correctional costs and improve public safety.
The research is clear: the single biggest factor in successful reintegration into the community is having sustainable employment. PREP matches incarcerated individuals and employers to create a path to success.

The primary purpose of PREP is to provide the support and services necessary to transform incarcerated individuals into healthy, law abiding, employed, and productive citizens upon their release from public corrections facilities and to reduce the rates of recidivism in the criminal justice system.
