Platinum Charities

Platinum Charities (PC) is a 501(c)(3) dedicated to empowering families and motivating at-risk youth from underserved communities. Throughout his NFL career, Platinum Charities founder, Mike "Scooter" McGruder, has championed programs committed to initiating life-changing opportunities that lift many youth and families out of poverty. Platinum Charities strives to:

• Raise money to fund scholarships for "need-based" students that have a desire to further their education;
• Provide free football camps that motivate and empower our youth on and off the field;
• Provide a positive impact on elementary schools through various literacy initiatives;
• Aid domestically abused women with children who are coming out of shelters with down payment assistance or low-to-free lease option in each of the 32 NFL cities.

Inspired by his personal understanding of the inner-city challenges facing today's youth, Platinum Charities provides positive change to well-deserving individuals and families throughout the country. Platinum Charities understands that our youth are the world's most valuable resource and they are undeniably the best hope for our future.

Our Needs

Many kids grade 1st through 5th have never owned a book before. For our literacy program, we need new book donations, donations to purchase books, and volunteers who can orchestrate book drives in the North Texas area.

We are also in need of financial donations and house donations for women who are coming out of domestic violence shelters and are in need of permanent housing. Platinum Charities, has developed two programs: low or free lease program and down payment assistance for homeownership. We believe we can help women in their continued effort to break the cycle of abuse, by providing a safe environment in which to raise their children. Volunteers who have expertise in renovations, real estate, landscaping, painting, plumbing, or any other kind of gift, is also needed.
