ORS is disrupting generational poverty in Texas by empowering vulnerable teens and adults — especially first-generation college students, low-income individuals, and those involved with the criminal justice system — to attain higher education degrees of value, secure gainful employment, and achieve social mobility.
At Opportunity Resource Services (ORS), we provide:
Educational Programming: Our programs help participants navigate their path from high school to postsecondary education to employment.
Holistic Support Services: Our organization offers a broad spectrum of services that include career guidance, GED support, tutorial services, college advising, financial aid counseling, assistance with scholarship applications, and financial literacy.
Mentorship and College Entry Assistance: Our team offers one-on-one mentorship and guidance in completing complex forms such as college applications and the FAFSA, ensuring no participant must navigate these processes alone.
Specialized Resources & Assistance: We provide year-round stipends and summer meals to address food scarcity among our low-income teen participants. Additionally, we offer specialized college access and college readiness services to those impacted by the criminal justice system and to our veterans and militarily connected population.
Regardless of the starting point or situation, ORS is here to help. For us, success is when clients earn a degree of value, secure gainful employment, and experience upward social mobility.

We want ORS's policies, programs, and activities to identify and avoid discrimination and barriers to access, particularly for communities of color.
