Wallace Elementary is a Title 1 school in the Lake Highlands area that has unique needs as more than 55% of our students come from low to moderate income families. Because of this our PTA plays a vital role in providing essential resources such as school supplies, snacks for kindergarteners, and money for teacher training. Your support of our special school makes a deep impact, helping us continue to deliver quality education and enriching programs for all of our students.
You all generously gave $2,000 last year during our North Texas Giving Day campaign and we hope to raise the bar to $3,000 this year. Thank you for considering supporting our school and community!
The purpose of the Wallace Elementary PTA, in common with the National PTA and Texas PTA:
• to promote the welfare of children and youth in home, school, places of worship and throughout the community
• to raise the standards of home life
• to advocate for laws that further the education, physical and mental health, welfare and safety of children and youth
• to promote the collaboration and engagement of families and educators in the education of children and youth
• to engage the public in united efforts to secure the physical, mental, emotional, spiritual and social well-being
of all children and youth
The purpose of the Wallace PTA is exemplified through advocacy and education in collaboration with parents, families, teachers, educators, students and the community; developed through conferences, committees, projects and programs. Our goal is to support students, staff and families of Wallace Elementary to help provide a learning environment that nurtures EVERY student. The Wallace PTA endeavors to support our nearly 60% low socio-economic community by providing financial assistance for school supplies, field trips/learning experiences, tutoring opportunities, ESL classes for parents, multicultural night, the learning garden, literacy nights as well as any support we can provide the administration to engage our children.
