For the residents who call Denton State Supported Living Center their home, they enjoy many of the things that make their days hum. They enjoy visiting our campus store and shopping (for free) for items that have been kindly provided by our donors. Our needs include: backpacks, purses, wallets, cosmetic bags; colored markers, pencils, pens, notebooks and art paper; adult coloring books; digital watches; jewelry (no pins); flashlights; men's and women's gloves; men's belts; men's rain ponchos; sleepwear; sweatshirts, sweatpants and sets; socks; thermal cups and twin comforters and sheet sets. Games include: Bean Bag Toss; Connect 4; Dominoes; Checkers; Jenga; playing cards; Puzzles (25 to 500 pieces); Skip-Bo; Trouble; new stuffed animals. Sporting goods (balls), including basketballs, footballs, Nerf Balls, soccer balls. Personal care products (plastic containers only): aftershave, men's cologne and body spray; women's perfume and body spray; body lotion; body wash; hair conditioner; shampoo; bar soap; deodorant; electric razors; nail polish; and hair brushes and clips..
Our mission is to seek and accept in-kind goods, services, and monies on behalf of Denton State Supported Living Center, for the benefit of the intellectually, physically & mentally challenged individuals who live there and to enhance their quality of life.
Our residents enjoy excursions into the community. Your donations fund trips to restaurants, bowling alleys and movie theaters.
