You make so much possible for VNA and those we serve.

You make so much possible for VNA and the individuals and families we serve. Thanks to your support, Meals on Wheels clients receive nourishment and companionship, and our clinical teams continue providing compassionate hospice and palliative care across North Texas.

Your trust has helped VNA remain steadfast in our mission to enhance health and well-being in our community with compassion, dignity, and integrity. Together, this year we made meaningful progress in expanding access to care, strengthening our programs, and preparing for the future.

Here’s what your support has made possible:

Meals on Wheels

With your support, VNA served over 5,000 homebound seniors through our Meals on Wheels program, now in its 53rd year. Throughout the year, over 4,000 volunteers deliver meals and friendship five days a week, while corporate and community groups continue to make an impact through our Day of Caring programs. This year also brought new partnerships and expanded volunteer engagement, helping us reach more seniors in need and continue progress toward increasing volunteer-delivered meal routes.

Hospice & Palliative Care

As one of North Texas’s oldest and most experienced hospice providers, VNA’s interdisciplinary care teams continue helping patients live fully and comfortably with dignity and respect. Nurses, social workers, aides, chaplains, therapists, physicians, and volunteers work together to provide holistic support for patients and families, addressing physical, emotional, spiritual, and mental well-being. This year, we expanded hospice services to serve over 2,000 patients, welcomed Faith Hospice into the VNA family, strengthened physician leadership in key areas, and advanced important work around palliative care and health system partnerships to improve care across our community.

 Pediatric Hospice Care

Our Children’s Haven Pediatric Program provides specialized care and guidance for patients from prenatal stages through age 21. Through partnerships with Children’s Medical Center in Dallas and Cook Children’s Medical Center in Fort Worth, we work closely with families and healthcare providers to align care with each family's goals and values, offering support throughout every stage of a child’s illness.

Coming Soon: Katherine’s House

Work is underway on Katherine’s House, a first-of-its-kind assisted living facility that will address a critical gap in end-of-life care across North Texas. Once open, Katherine’s House will provide a safe, dignified setting for seriously ill individuals who lack stable housing, caregiver support, or the resources needed to receive care at home.

Licensed as an assisted living facility, Katherine’s House will open with five beds, allowing for personalized, compassionate care in a warm, home-like environment. Construction has begun, with a target opening of Winter 2027. Policies are being finalized, and required applications are actively underway to support licensure and operational readiness.

Today, North Texas has no dedicated residence for seriously ill patients who lack safe housing or support. Katherine’s House is being created to fill that gap—ensuring every person, regardless of circumstance, can receive compassionate, dignified care at the end of life.

Needs

VOLUNTEERS: Turn Your Lunch Break into a Lifeline

A lunch break can change a life. Deliver more than a meal—deliver hope, connection, and a friendly smile to homebound seniors across Dallas County. Every route you complete helps reduce costs enough to provide a full week of meals for another senior in need. Just one hour can make a lasting impact.

At VNA, we have a big goal for FY27.

We want to recruit 30 additional volunteers each day to help us increase volunteer-delivered Meals on Wheels routes from 40% to 50%. Achieving this goal could save nearly $324,000 annually, allowing us to provide a full year of meals to approximately 159 more senior neighbors who are waiting for help.

That’s where you come in.

If you’re already a VNA volunteer, thank you. Will you help us reach this ambitious goal by inviting someone to join you?

Bring a friend on your next route

Ask your church or faith community to adopt a route

Invite coworkers to volunteer together during lunch

Encourage your civic club, neighborhood group, or community organization to get involved

Share your volunteer experience on social media

If you’ve never volunteered before, now is the perfect time to start.

VNA delivers meals throughout nearly 1,000 square miles of Dallas County, and volunteers can choose a delivery area that works best for their schedule, home, workplace, or church.

One of our favorite volunteer ambassadors, VNA Board Member and volunteer driver Christi Morrow, puts it best:

“I’ve been delivering Meals on Wheels for more than 10 years with my church, Saint Michael and All Angels, my husband, my children, and friends. There is no better way to spend an hour delivering food and friendship.”

The beauty of Meals on Wheels is that you don’t have to do it alone. Some of our most dedicated volunteers serve with spouses, friends, colleagues, children, and fellow church members. It’s an easy and meaningful way to give back together while brightening the day of a homebound senior.

This year, we’re asking our VNA family of donors, volunteers, and supporters to help us reach an important milestone:

30 more volunteers each day

159 more seniors served each year

Countless moments of food, friendship, and connection

GIFTS: Help Us Reach More Seniors Than Ever

The need is growing—and so is our commitment. This year, we're serving nearly 300 more seniors than last year, while the cost of preparing and delivering every meal has increased by more than $1. Your gift helps ensure every senior receives nutritious meals, wellness checks, and the compassionate care they deserve.

Give today to help ensure no senior goes hungry—or feels forgotten.

SUPPLIES: Bring Comfort to Children Facing Serious Illness and Loss

Children often struggle to understand the challenges of serious illness and loss. Our Child Life Specialists provide comforting activities, memory-making projects, and therapeutic resources that help children express emotions, build resilience, and create lasting connections with loved ones.

You can make a meaningful difference by donating arts and crafts supplies, memory-making materials, and other therapeutic items that inspire healing through creativity.
