Trusted World was founded in 2014 with a simple but powerful mission: Helping people help people.

The vision started with the recognition that many schools, police departments, and nonprofits were spending time, money, and space trying to provide basic necessities for their clients, often with limited resources and inconsistent supply. This duplication of effort meant fewer people were being helped, and frontline professionals were pulled away from their core work.

From the beginning, Trusted World flipped the model:

  • Centralize the resources. Gather, sort, inspect, and inventory high-quality donations of clothing, nonperishable food, and toiletries.

  • Standardize the process. Create an efficient, data-driven ordering system so partners can request exactly what they need, size-specific, for each person they serve.

  • Deliver at no cost. Free up partners to focus on education, safety, or direct services, knowing Trusted World will get basic necessities to them quickly and reliably.

In its first year, Trusted World served a handful of partners in North Texas. Word about our transformative approach spread quickly, and by 2024, we served 847 partners, filling18,099 orders, and helping more than 84,000 people!

Along the way, we developed the Preventive Poverty® model,  an innovative framework that uses data and collaboration to ensure help arrives before a crisis becomes long-term poverty. We later added the Trusted Directory to our partner portal, enabling professionals to instantly connect with vetted organizations for needs beyond what Trusted World provides.

Today, Trusted World operates out of a 23,000 square foot warehouse in Garland, Texas, supported by 12 employees and hundreds of individual and corporate volunteers. Our lean manufacturing approach and data systems allow us to serve a large and growing network of partners, all at no charge.

And now, with the  Tear Down the Wall Expansion Campaign, we’re preparing for the next chapter: doubling our capacity to help more than 150,000 people a year!

Giving Activity

Mission

Trusted World is committed to providing the best resources, at no cost, to people or organizations providing services on someone else's behalf.

Every week, we provide size-specific clothing, nonperishable food, and hygiene items, at no cost, to our partners - schools, police departments, and other nonprofits. They see situational poverty every day.

We help them stay focused on their core missions, because we provide resources on-demand, saving them time and money.

In 2024, Trusted World helped 84,000 people, and the need is growing every day. With your help, we can double that number!

Needs

Tear Down the Wall – Expansion Campaign

Trusted World is at max capacity, and right on the other side of our warehouse wall is an additional 23,000 square feet of space available. Tearing down that wall will allow us to grow from serving 84,000 people each year to over 150,000 — all at no cost to our partners, which include schools, police departments, and other nonprofits.

The goal is to raise $1,000,000 to fund this expansion, including:

$525,000 for lease, utilities, and insurance

$325,000 for build-out, moving, technology, security, and other soft costs

$150,000 for additional staff

We have already secured 55% of our goal and need your help to Tear Down the Wall!

Equity Statement

At Trusted World, we believe that equity is fundamental to our mission of serving our communities. We recognize that systemic inequalities affect individuals and groups in various ways, and we are committed to addressing these disparities through our programs and practices.
