Catholic Schools Are Good for Dallas
and for Students.
and for Families.
The HALO Initiative (HALO) was founded in 2020 by a small group of people with a passion for Catholic education. We know that while many Catholic schools across the nation have been closing, our Dallas area Catholic schools are growing despite continual challenges. Much of the growth is a result of the existing support for Catholic education. HALO is building on this growth by leveraging and coordinating existing and new resources, and by bringing a fresh approach to testing and learning concepts related to long-term impact.
HALO works alongside the Catholic Schools Office (CSO) and stays aligned on their top priorities to help solve the biggest challenges across the Catholic School System. Because HALO is an independent charity, we are uniquely positioned to create ways that make it easier for supporters of Catholic education to work together to create a larger, more meaningful impact for students, families, and for Catholic education in Dallas
HALO is governed by a volunteer board of directors and employs a small staff. To learn more, please visit our website or call us at (972) 232-2337.
Our Primary Need: Funding for our HALO 139 Pilot
Now in its second year, our five HALO 139 pilot Catholic Schools have welcomed 139 new Pre-K - 8th grade students into Catholic education for their first time. We attracted them with 50% off tuition for the first two years based on data that shows when families try a Catholic school, they rarely leave. We project that our investment in HALO 139 projects will create a return of up to six times the investment of tuition discounts offered for these five pilot schools. This additional revenue will keep these schools viable and self-sufficient and allow the Catholic School System to face other challenges that continually come our way.
HALO is now raising donations to fund the tuition discounts for these new young families. So far, we have raised nearly $500,000. We aim to raise $10,000 through 2023 North Texas Giving Day, and another $500,000 throughout this school year. This investment positions these schools to continue receiving tuition from these young families for years to come as they enjoy being part of these even more vibrant Catholic School communities.
Thank you for supporting our students and families and entire Catholic School system in Dallas through The HALO Initiative.
