The Anchor Home is a faith-based nonprofit serving Ellis County and the surrounding North Texas community by providing transitional housing and support for women facing unexpected crises. Our mission is to help women who suddenly find themselves without the support systems or resources they need to remain stable and secure.

Many of the women who come to The Anchor Home are navigating extremely difficult circumstances such as divorce, the death of a family’s primary provider, serious medical crises, financial hardship, or other unexpected life events. In these moments of instability, women often need both practical help and emotional support to regain their footing.

The Anchor Home exists to provide that breathing room.

When women reach out to us, they are first welcomed with compassion, prayer, and conversation. Each woman is interviewed and counseled to determine the best next steps based on her individual situation. Our goal is to understand her needs, help her assess her options, and connect her with the resources that will best support her path forward.

If a woman meets the criteria for housing and space is available, she becomes a resident client of The Anchor Home. She is provided safe, stable transitional housing while receiving mentorship, counseling, and practical support as she begins building a plan for long-term stability and independence.

Our program focuses on equipping women with the tools they need to rebuild their lives and move toward self-sufficiency. Services provided through The Anchor Home include:

• Transitional housing
• Biblical discipleship and spiritual mentorship
• Job skills training and employment preparation
• Financial awareness and budgeting guidance
• Physical wellness and healthy living support
• Adult education, GED preparation, and ESL opportunities

In some cases, we also partner with trusted local organizations throughout Ellis County and North Texas to provide specialized services that further support our residents.

At The Anchor Home, we believe every woman deserves dignity, stability, and the opportunity to rebuild her life. By providing safe housing, guidance, and practical resources, we help women move from crisis toward hope, independence, and a stronger future.
