We provide a transitional home for our residents where all of their basic needs are met so that they can focus on obtaining gainful employment and rebuilding their stability. During their stay, we provide food, shelter, counseling, casework, financial literacy, and job readiness services to help our residents achieve their personal goals and ultimately attain long-term independence.
The Samaritan Inn is the only shelter in Collin County that accepts pets, ensuring that families don’t have to choose between safety and staying together. We also offer a grocery-store-style Food Pantry that provides food access to individuals and families across Collin County. As part of The Samaritan Inn’s comprehensive continuum of care, the pantry helps stabilize households facing food insecurity and financial hardship — strengthening families before, during, and after crisis.
We welcome single men, single women, and families. Unlike many emergency shelters, families at The Samaritan Inn are never separated.
Upon graduation from our program, our most successful residents have the opportunity to apply for a unit in our independent living community, Gateway Apartments. The Gateway Apartments come fully furnished and provide residents with the perfect stepping stone into a new level of responsibility, while still having the ongoing support of many of our services.
