The Kessler School

Which House Will You Stand With?

Every gift. Every House. Every student seen.

On a Tuesday morning in Oak Cliff, students move through The Kessler School in their House colors, greeted by teachers who know them and surrounded by traditions that reinforce belonging. That culture is not an accident. It is built day after day by teachers, families and a community that chooses to invest in what happens inside these walls.

The Kessler School opened in 1999, started by neighbors who believed Oak Cliff deserved an education as creative and diverse as the community around it. Today, students from early childhood through eighth grade learn on our Sunset Hill campus in small classes, guided by our House System and its six values: Community, Leadership, Individuality, Curiosity, Generosity and Integrity.

Under Head of School Dr. Roemer, one idea holds it together: dignity. Every person carries inherent worth, and a school should treat students, teachers and families that way every day.

Why Give

  • Every child, seen. Small classes and tailored instruction mean teachers know how each student learns. Your gift keeps that personal attention possible for kids with a wide range of strengths and needs.

  • A school built on dignity. Belonging is part of everyday life at Kessler, from the House System to our social and emotional learning.

  • Learning you can see. Art partnerships, STEAM projects, outdoor education and House traditions turn values into real experiences this school year, not someday.

The House Challenge

Every House begins together, and every participating family strengthens both its House and the school. Which House will lead in 2026?

Why Give on North Texas Giving Day?

On North Texas Giving Day, the number of donors matters as much as the size of any single gift. Every gift, at every level, moves your House up the leaderboard and moves the whole school forward.

Our goal this year is 100 percent parent participation: every family, every House, giving together.

Give on our profile page, cheer on your House and help every student at The Kessler School start the year seen and supported. 100 percent of your online gift goes to The Kessler School through the Communities Foundation of Texas.

Mission

Our mission is to provide an engaging, student-centered education in a nurturing and inclusive environment, fostering a love of learning, critical thinking, and personal growth.

At The Kessler School, we offer an UNLIMITED educational experience that nurtures every aspect of a child's development. Our curriculum follows the highest academic standards, including the Common Core State Standards (CCSS) for language arts and math, and the Texas Essential Knowledge & Skills (TEKS) for science and social studies.

We integrate innovative programs like our STEAM Lab, in partnership with Techie Factory, and our fine arts curriculum through collaborations with Oil and Cotton and BOCO Music & Dance. These opportunities provide hands-on learning in technology, engineering, arts, and mathematics.

Our focus on Social Emotional Learning (SEL) helps students develop empathy, resilience, and teamwork, creating a joyful and inclusive environment. With small class sizes and personalized attention, TKS prepares students for both academic and personal success.

Equity Statement

The Kessler School is an inclusive community whose mission is to create a community of diverse learners who value individual perspectives, cultural diversity, and social justice. We treat EVERYONE (including parents, students, staff, families, students with special needs, guests, etc.) with dignity and respect.
