Down Syndrome Partnership of North Texas

A nonprofit organization

Mission:
Provide support to individuals with Down syndrome and their families through awareness and engagement, advocacy and outreach, education, and the exchange of ideas and experiences.

Vision:
We promote the value of those with Down syndrome in our lives and in our communities. We continually strive toward a vision of full access and acceptance, full potential, and a life of opportunities for people with Down syndrome and their loved ones.

Our Needs

DSPNT is currently seeking funding to support enhancements to our community garden, an initiative launched in late 2024. The garden was created as a hands-on educational resource for adults engaged in our self-advocate programs, offering opportunities to learn about gardening, nutrition, and healthy living. Participants actively maintain the garden and use the harvested produce during nutrition classes, reinforcing life skills and promoting wellness.

Funds raised through North Texas Giving Day will be used to improve the garden’s functionality and accessibility. Planned upgrades include shaded seating areas with picnic tables and essential safety improvements to the surrounding space—ensuring a more inclusive, comfortable, and secure environment for all who participate.
