$15,000 Goal

TexProtects strengthens Texas families to prevent child abuse and neglect.

Established in 2004, TexProtects has successfully steered 54 pieces of legislation to passage and secured over $200 million in state funding for community programs that reach over 25,000 families annually through home visiting and parenting programs that strengthen family functioning and ensure successful child development.

Last year, there were 58,120 confirmed cases of child abuse in Texas. That is an average of 159 children every day.

43%, or over 4 of every 10, of the calls to the statewide intake hotline did not meet the definition of abuse/neglect these calls may pertain to families in need of support. These are likely families where some assistance offered by a community-based organization could help them avoid a crisis or neglectful situation.

With your support, TexProtects strengthens families by:

  1. Advocating for policies and system transformations that put Texas families first.
  2. Raising awareness of evidence-based and preventative solutions.
  3. Supporting professionals in delivering programs that strengthen families.
  4. Ensuring families and communities are connected to needed support services and resources.
  5. Convening partners and allies in creating a strong prevention ecosystem in our state.
