The Texas Pool is listed on the National Register of Historic Places and is a City of Plano Heritage Landmark. It is the very first Texas-shaped pool in the world. The Texas Pool Foundation is dedicated to the preservation of the Texas Pool landmark, and to community outreach. The Texas Pool has a Little Free Library and Little Free Pantry. It is a Certified Wildlife Habitat and a Monarch Way Station with an award-winning butterfly garden. The Texas Pool supports the arts with a mural project, live music, and mermaid performances during the summer season. Maintained, managed, and marketed almost exclusively by volunteers, The Texas Pool encourages community involvement and provides for historic preservation, swim safety, and lifeguard education. We offer free swimming opportunities for underserved populations of Dallas and Collin County and accept community service and bartering for memberships. We want everyone to have an opportunity to #SwimAcrossTexas!
