Mission

The mission of Texas Ballet Theater is to create, present and tour world-class ballet, from classical to cutting-edge, and promote its appreciation, accessibility, and technical mastery among students, pre-professionals, and audiences of all ages.

As the only resident performing arts company for both Nancy Lee and Perry R. Bass Performance Hall in Fort Worth and the AT&T Performing Arts Center in Dallas, Texas Ballet Theater (TBT) is proud to serve as a leader for the arts and cultural vibrancy of North Texas. Through the organization's artistic merit, impactful outreach initiatives, and diverse community partnerships, TBT increases access to the arts and arts education.

Needs

Your donation assists us in meeting our needs and the community’s needs in three areas:

Art: TBT continues to expand its artistic excellence and creative repertoire with contemporary ballets, beloved story ballets, and international partnerships with renowned creatives in the ballet industry.

TBT elevates ballet classics and challenges audience's expectations through new works that are relevant to today’s culture and communities.

Access: CityDance is a free after-school program offered to participating campuses and their students at various sites in underserved areas throughout North Texas.

Student Matinee Series: TBT Company and student dancers perform The Nutcracker and Peter and the Wolf annually for 30,000 young students. We are proud to serve Dallas ISD, Mansfield ISD, and in partnership with Bass Performance Hall the Fort Worth ISD.

Ticket Subsidy Fund increases access to ballet by providing reduced price or complimentary tickets to special audiences, including veterans and active military, and underserved students.

Education: Texas Ballet Theater School (TBTS) provides ballet training for ages three and above at campuses in Fort Worth, Richardson and a new location in Dallas to open in the coming months. More than 700 students are trained at TBTS each year, many of whom are provided the opportunity to audition for Company productions.

Summer Intensive (SI) Program is comprised of students, representing several states, each of whom stays in Fort Worth for up to five weeks at Texas Christian University. Families are invited at the end of each SI session to visit for the showcase performance.
