Theatre Network of Texas, Inc. (TNT) - Formerly Texas Nonprofit Theatres, has continued to provide services to theatrical organizations for over 50 years.
TNT is always in need of general funds. Our focus today is our Multicultural Paid Summer Theatre Internship - now in its 27th year. College students spend their summer working at a theatre to learn and understand the complexities and inner workings of running a theatre. The program cost breakdown is below and does not include administrative costs.
Internship Salaries - $15,000 ($3,000 per intern plus taxes - this calculation is for 4 interns)
Marketing - $1,000
Interviews & Training - $4,000 - Intern finalists (up to 10 finalists) attend our annual TEXFest and are interviewed by their prospective theatres. This allows the finalists to experience the professional development we offer attendees and all the elements of a performance festival and conference.
The internship program does cost TNT approximately $20,000 to run.
It is TNT's mission to promote high standards in theatre arts, provide professional training and development for individuals involved in theatre, promote the development of educational theatre, provide a forum for the exchange of information and ideas by persons engaged in theatre, encourage the formation of new theatre groups and support established theatre organizations, and to provide information and advocacy for the needs of theatres in Texas within the limits of the law.
