Thank you for considering support for our current program needs! Our academic program needs include: additional casts for advancing students to complete the cast drawing phase of the curriculum, enhanced lighting for our figure model room, funds for books as several of our school's art textbooks have suffered significant wear and tear, scholarship funds for several students who have demonstrated commitment to the curriculum and have financial need, easels for our teen workshop and for use in the figure model room, funds for model fees, and art supplies.
TAFA offers in-depth training in the drawing and painting techniques of the Renaissance Old Masters, preserving and advancing a tradition of classical realist art. As the only full-time academy dedicated to realist art in both Fort Worth and the state of Texas, TAFA fills a vital gap in the region’s artistic and cultural landscape. Students complete a rigorous four-year curriculum designed to build the technical foundation and artistic discipline necessary to produce beautifully rendered, expressive works of art. At the heart of TAFA’s mission is equipping artists with the skills to create work marked by both excellence and individuality.
The Texas Academy of Figurative Art (TAFA) is committed to preserving the classical realist tradition while ensuring that talented, dedicated students—regardless of financial circumstances—can access our full-time academic program. This North Texas Giving Day, your support will help us:
• Provide scholarships for students who demonstrate financial need and a deep commitment to TAFA’s four-year curriculum. These scholarships are essential for ensuring that aspiring artists can pursue their education without financial barriers.
• Replace essential classroom resources, including worn textbooks and drawing casts used in our cast drawing phase.
• Upgrade studio lighting in our figure model room to improve the quality of instruction and artwork.
• Purchase easels and supplies for our teen workshops and studio classrooms.
• Support live model sessions, a critical part of our classical training approach, by helping cover model fees.
Your gift helps nurture the next generation of classically trained artists and ensures that the legacy of realist art continues to thrive in Texas and beyond.
At the Texas Academy of Figurative Art (TAFA), we believe that access to a high-quality classical realist art education should not be limited by financial means, background, or life circumstance. We are committed to creating an inclusive and welcoming environment where every aspiring artist has the opportunity to develop their skills, express their unique vision, and contribute to the cultural richness of our community.
We recognize that equity in the arts requires intentional effort to remove financial and systemic barriers. Through scholarships, outreach, and ongoing support, TAFA strives to make our rigorous, full-time training accessible to talented students from all walks of life. We are dedicated to fostering a diverse artistic community that values each student’s voice, experience, and potential.
