$12,000 Goal

In 2025 Teatro Dallas will celebrate 40 years of impacting  culture in Dallas! Teatro produces vanguard, global theater, focusing on developing new artists locally. Our theater presents an international theater festival, bilingual children's theater to under-served youth in our community, commissions original plays, presents world premieres and reaches 12,000 individuals annually. Additionally, we present free community events, youth camps and workforce training in the arts for young adults and teens. We actively support the professional growth of local playwrights, designers, actors and arts administrators.

Our Needs

Funds are sought to support the addition of staff to coordinate and oversee our community outreach events and youth workshops and classes. Teatro Dallas provides high-quality performances in diverse neighborhoods across the city, reaching low-income audiences in their own zip codes. Additionally, TD presents a season of staged productions at the Latino Cultural Center as a resident theater company. Teatro Dallas has provided our city with over 38 years of accessible arts programming, especially to our low-income and marginalized communities, and therefore the support of our theater in direct support of the well-being of communities of color.

Mission

Teatro Dallas is committed to the cultural empowerment of the Latinx community by representing our varied experiences, voices, and artistic expressions. Through high quality theatrical programming Teatro Dallas employs the power of theater to celebrate our diverse traditions while strengthening our community.

Equity Statement

Cultural equity ensures that all people are represented in the development of arts policy, access to space, and the equitable distribution of programmatic, financial, and informational resources.

In accordance with these principles, Teatro Dallas is a BIPOC-led organization with a commitment to maintaining an international community. We are committed to promoting equity, diversity, and inclusion in its organizational policies and in the work that it produces, including our plays, educational programs and community outreach.

Teatro Dallas recognizes that artistic environments require risk, courage, vulnerability, and investment of our full selves. We have a proud legacy of producing daring, innovative, and interdisciplinary work.

Teatro Dallas has adopted policies that allow for these conditions to flourish and makes them available to those it employs and to the public upon request.
