$30,000 Goal

TAG PTSA (Parent Teacher Student Association) provides services and programming to boost the community spirit and educational programs of the School for the Talented and Gifted at Townview Magnet. The TAG PTSA is an incredible resource for our families, students, teachers, staff, and alumni.

Like many other Title I schools, we often need funding to help cover expenses not covered by Dallas Independent School District. The PTSA steps in to provide those additional services and programs to boost the community spirit and educational programs of TAG. All money donated to TAG PTSA directly affects the school!

Spending requests change every year but in a typical year, PTSA supports the School of Talented and Gifted with funds for:

  • Teacher grants
  • School website and communication tools
  • Community-engaging events, such as our annual picnic and school dances
  • Presidential Service Awards
  • Graduation celebration activities
  • Teacher Appreciation meals and gifts
  • Teacher professional development
  • Student Programs and Events

Past grants provided the school with many long-term gifts, such as:

  • Outdoor furniture for the Townview Commons
  • Lounge furniture for meeting areas
  • Robotics equipment
  • Water distiller for Chemistry Lab
  • Computer Science books
  • Physics Lab Equipment
  • Dissection kits
  • Online textbooks
  • Writing Guides

Our Needs

TAG PTSA is funded solely by the generosity of our TAG family, friends and community.

Thanks to YOU, last year we raised over $40,000 during our Fundraising Campaign and were able to fund the entire budget through your generosity!

Let's do it again in 2023!

Your TAG PTSA looks forward to continuing to serve our entire community. We are more than just a school, we are a family. The success and well-being of our students, faculty, and staff is our #1 priority. Thank you for your continued support!

Specifically, with respect to equity, the Policy states:

"Equity provides fairness and access to resources, opportunities, and outcomes so that all communities get what they need to be engaged and successful. This moves beyond an 'equal across the board' approach to:

b) Understand and attend to specific individual and community needs, providing additional resources to those with greater needs."
