Tarrant Area Food Bank is working to continue to meet the needs of families, children and seniors facing hunger. With inflation affecting many, Tarrant Area Food Bank knows that several individuals are left behind, wondering when their next meal will be. Tarrant Area Food Bank is proud to be providing over 1,000,000 meals each week to ensure that those impacted by prices too high for comfort, and everyday crisis, have the food and nutrition they need. The Food Bank is dedicated to meeting the needs of the community where they live. This is accomplished through the Food Bank's network of compassionate volunteers, over 450 partner agencies and our incredible relationships in the food industry throughout our 13-county service area.

But furthermore, Tarrant Area Food Bank's upcoming Ready to Learn program will ensure that every child has the most important school supply they need - food. Through the Ready to Learn program, Tarrant Area Food Bank plans to double the number of in-school markets to well over 100 by the end of 2024. In addition to increasing the number of in-school markets, the Food Bank will be opening its' Ready to Learn Center next year. The Center will be across the street from their location on Cullen St. and it will include a mission market for families to grocery shop at no cost to them, several educational programs for children, a learning garden and more. Tarrant Area Food Bank is excited to be growing and innovating because those who are facing hunger can't wait.

Our Needs

Tarrant Area Food Bank is continuing to provide access to over 1,000,000 nutritious meals each week to those facing hunger. But still, we know that's not enough. Our recent initiative to double the amount of in-school markets through our Ready to Learn program will help us increase the number of families and children we are serving by giving them convenient opportunities to have access to nutritious food. We know that children who are hungry are sick more often, have behavioral issues and fall behind in school. Tarrant Area Food Bank is currently raising funds to double the number of in-school markets throughout the 13 counties we serve. Each in-school market is $20,000-$25,000. Your support today will help us ensure every child is ready to learn this school year and thanks to our partners H-E-B/Central Market and Higginbotham your gift will be DOUBLED this North Texas Giving Day!
