St. Philip the Apostle Catholic Church, in union with God and guided by the same Spirit of Vatican II, aspires to transform our community into disciples and leaders to enflesh Christ to the world through love, kindness and compassion.

Our Needs

St. Philip the Apostle Faith Formation Sessions are coordinated by generous and committed people from the parish. Our Coordinators and Catechists are all in the Certification Program sponsored by the Diocese of Dallas. Our goal is to provide children and adults the best formation process possible. Our Faith Formation Programs are NOT ONLY for children preparing for the sacraments but for all students and adults wanting to grow in their faith. Faith Formation is a lifelong process "aimed at personal transformation through the development of a personal relationship with God, participation in sacramental worship, the development of a mature ethical and social conscience, ongoing catechesis, and a deepening integration of faith into all areas of life...Faith involves a profound change of mind and heart, a change of life, a "metanoia" (Greek word for "Conversion"). Such a change can only arise from deep within the interior of one's being, where one faces the truly important questions about human life."

To cover administrative costs and teaching supplies, St,. Philip currently needs to charge to attend Faith Formation. Donations to Texas Day of Giving will provide scholarships to needy individuals so they may attend these faith-filled classes.

Mission

With faith, love, and trust in God, we are able to build bridges among our diversity of cultural richness and see the "many faces of God." We are able to appreciate our differences as gifts. Rooted in God's love we worship, learn, and struggle together, creating a healing environment and stand united as One, Holy, Catholic and Apostolic Church.

Needs

St. Philip the Apostle Catholic Church serves the growing and vibrant Latino community in Pleasant Grove in southeast Dallas. Your donation to North Texas Day of Giving will support the Faith Formation classes offered to children of parishioners so they might learn and grow in their faith.
