Why Give?
Howdy!
From live performances to classes for kids and adults, and from corporate team-building to our groundbreaking Improv for Life mental wellness programs, Stomping Ground is more than just a theater. We’re a welcoming space where people connect, grow, and discover the power of play.
Our Mission
Stomping Ground is a new kind of space for comedy and improv, dedicated to using comedy as a force for positive change in our communities.
As Dallas’ only nonprofit theater dedicated to comedy, we...
Produce live shows featuring improv, stand-up, sketch, and more.
Offer classes for adults and kids at every experience level
Provide team-building and corporate training for businesses
But what truly sets us apart is Improv for Life, our mental wellness and social-emotional learning program led by psychotherapist Andrea K. Baum. Through Improv for Life, we provide transformative classes for:
Caregivers of people with Alzheimer’s or dementia
Neurodiverse adults and children
People living with anxiety
And many more unique communities
Since 2018, Stomping Ground Comedy has awarded 142 scholarships through our Training Center to individuals from underrepresented and marginalized communities. These scholarships have opened doors to classes in improv, sketch, stand-up, and musical comedy—fostering inclusive comedy education and ensuring that the voices on our stages truly reflect the diversity of Dallas.
Our Scholarship Access Goal
At Stomping Ground Comedy Theater, we are dedicated to creating equitable access to comedy education. Each year, we aim for at least 10% of our Training Center students to attend on scholarship. Every scholarship represents a $1,250 investment in comprehensive comedy training, empowering students to learn, grow, and find their voice.
Thank you to the generous funders, partners, and supporters who make this possible. Learn more or get involved at stompinggroundcomedy.org.
💛 All funds raised through North Texas Giving Day will go directly toward scholarships for these programs and our comedy classes—helping North Texans from all walks of life connect, grow, and laugh together.

Improv for Caregivers: A Special North Texas Giving Day Workshop
Thursday, September 18th | 10:30 AM - 12:30 PM
Being a caregiver of someone with Alzheimer's or dementia can be challenging, isolating, and overwhelming—but you don’t have to do it alone. Our Improv for Caregivers Workshop is a supportive, uplifting space where caregivers can connect, laugh, and build resilience through the power of improv.
We know that finding care for a loved one can be a barrier to attending workshops. For this session, we’re excited to offer an optional Caregiver + Loved One registration. Bring your loved one with dementia to Stomping Ground with you! While you take part in the workshop, our compassionate team will lead gentle improv games and activities in the Greenroom to engage and entertain your loved one.
Free for caregivers and their loved ones, thanks to the AWARE Foundation.
Get ready to party with Stomping Ground! Join us to celebrate our incredible champions—our donors, staff, and volunteers! We can't wait to spend an evening expressing our gratitude and celebrating our shared success in making our mission possible. Enjoy food, drinks, comedy, and exciting raffles.
Please RSVP so we can ensure we have enough food and drink for everyone.
Stomping Ground educates, entertains, and empowers the community - connecting people through comedy.
Needs
Every dollar raised on NTGD supports our Scholarship Fund, providing access to comedy classes and therapeutic Improv for Life programs for individuals who might not otherwise be able to participate. Together, we can make comedy (and its life-changing benefits) accessible to everyone.
Equity Statement
At Stomping Ground, our mission is to make comedy accessible and inclusive to diverse voices so that our students, performers, and audiences reflect the Dallas–Fort Worth community. We celebrate the full range of human differences, including but not limited to race, ethnicity, gender identity, sexual orientation, age, social class, physical ability, religion, national origin, and values. We strive to create a space where everyone feels seen, heard, and empowered to be their authentic self.
We believe that collaboration strengthens our art form and our community. By supporting and learning from each other, we create a more skilled, connected, and inclusive comedy scene where creativity thrives and everyone has a place on stage and in the audience.
