The mission of the Spina Bifida Association of North Texas is to build a better and brighter future for all those impacted by Spina Bifida. We work to make a practical, positive difference every day, helping to improve care so individuals with Spina Bifida can enjoy life to the fullest and expect a better future.
SBA of North Texas supports and connects individuals across the North Texas area, including communities in East, Central and West Texas, but supports all individuals with Spina Bifida across the state of Texas. Established in 1973, SBANT works year-round to provide services, resources, outreach, education, referrals and programs to support our families and adults living with Spina Bifida to fulfill our mission. Our goal is to raise awareness of Spina Bifida and to give children, families and adults the tools that they need to be advocates for themselves, independent and active individuals with Spina Bifida, and to have a strong and supportive community. Our programs include camps, an incontinence and medical supply/equipment "closet", information and referral, advocacy, support, social events, educational programs, educational scholarships and more. Our programs are ever changing and growing to meet the needs of our community.

Our Needs
We are currently looking for people to serve on the board of directors beginning January 2027. Our board is a working board, so our members chair and work events and assist where needed. We are also looking for volunteers to assist with our events such as our Walk-N-Roll in September, Education Day in February, and our Christmas Party in December. We begin recruiting volunteer counselors and nurses to help staff our June 2027 Camp TLC week at Camp John Marc for Spina Bifida children age 8-16. We immediately need a volunteer to assist with our wordpress website and assistance with grants.
