Founded in 2004, Spay Neuter Network (SNN) operates four spay/neuter clinics (Dallas, Fort Worth, Crandall, and San Antonio, Texas), a mobile spay-neuter program, and a transport program in partnership with over 16 counties and 36 cities to provide free and affordable spay/neuter and essential pet care for financially-challenged pet owners in areas where there is little to no access to affordable veterinary care. In 2024, our three DFW area clinics served over 400 ZIP codes throughout North Texas and provided services for more than 35,000 dogs and cats.

We develop our programs to improve the quality of care for dogs and cats while at the same time reducing the number of pets needing the safety net of animal shelters.

  • Our Mobile Clinic/Transport Program removes geographic barriers to care by offering about 5,000 pet owners alternate transportation options to receive services annually (65,000 to date). Through these programs, we support pet owners across 34 counties in Texas, serving many rural communities who have limited options for veterinary care. We also actively focus on urban neighborhoods throughout DFW, ensuring we connect with those in greatest need.

  • Our Community Cat Program sterilizes and vaccinates over 2,000 free-roaming cats annually to improve community health and prevent more births on our streets. In 2024, we surpassed our goal and exceeded 4,000 free-roaming community cat surgeries, with more than 1,500 of cats coming from Dallas.

  • Our Pet Support and Resource Center manages surrender requests for Dallas Animal Services and Fort Worth Animal Care & Control to help people keep their pets or support self-rehoming or rescue placement as alternative options. Since launching this program in 2020, we have successfully maintained a 50% reduction in owner surrendered pets to Dallas Animal Services.

  • Our SNN+ Program in Fort Worth expands our low-cost pet care options and offers more opportunities for financially-challenged pet owners to connect with veterinarians. Support includes ear, eye and skin issue treatment, dental cleanings and end of life services.

  • Our Pet Assistance Program for People Experiencing Homelessness provides spay/neuter surgeries, wellness vaccinations, and preventatives for dogs and cats belonging to pet owners experiencing homelessness to help maintain the human-animal bond and remove barriers to future housing. We host a bi-annual wellness day in partnership with The Bridge Homeless Recovery Center to support this community. Past residents who are in transitional housing continue to attend these events to ensure continued support.

  • Our Humane Education Program brings pet care and dog safety to nearly 8,000 students annually. Focused on elementary schools in our target community ZIP codes, this engaging course helps keep children safe and lays the foundation for a brighter future for pets.

  • Our Shelter and Rescue Support Group Program supports partner organizations with limited veterinary resources by providing spay-neuter surgeries and essential pet care for their dogs and cats, so they can place those pets into new homes faster. We work with more than 20 shelters and rescue organizations annually to provide needed veterinary care.

  • Our Veterinary Mentorship Program was developed to ensure we can serve our mission into the future and support veterinarians wanting to increase their surgery skills and capacity. Since its launch in 2024, over 50 veterinarians have participated in the program and delivered more than 2,400 additional surgeries to support pet owners.

Giving Activity

Mission

Spay Neuter Network's mission is to eliminate pet overpopulation through spay/neuter while empowering communities to care responsibly for dogs and cats.

Needs

We need your support to offer these community programs and increase equal access to pet care for residents in low-income neighborhoods. Your donation will enable us to sterilize more pets, reducing the pet population and the risk of euthanasia at local shelters; vaccinate more pets to improve community pet health; educate people about responsible pet care to improve the overall lives of pets; and bring these services into neighborhoods that need them the most. Your gift ensures every pet gets the essential care they need and deserve.
