For two (2) decades, Seniors’ Pet Assistance Network (SPAN) has helped low-income seniors in the Dallas County area who are 67 years or older and have a monthly income of $1,700 or less.
SPAN exists for a simple but powerful reason: no senior should have to choose between caring for themselves and caring for their beloved pet. For many, their pet provides companionship, comfort, purpose and a reason to stay active. Yet rising costs of pet food and veterinary care, transportation challenges, and limited mobility pose hardships that many cannot overcome.
SPAN steps in so that the financial hardship does not force a senior to choose between personal necessities and caring for a pet. By helping with pet food, litter, supplies, and veterinary care, SPAN supports both ends of the lease: the well-being of senior residents and the animals who bring so much love to their lives.
WHY YOUR GIFT MATTERS
Every donation helps SPAN meet immediate needs that make a lasting difference:
- Pet food helps seniors nourish their dogs and cats without stretching already limited household budgets.
- Cat litter and essential supplies help keep pets safe, healthy and comfortably cared for at home.
- Veterinary care can help prevent medical issues before they become emergencies.
- Reliable support helps preserve the irreplaceable bond between older adults and their animal companions.
