The Sammons Center for the Arts serves as a welcoming home for emerging artists, performing arts groups, and the audiences who support them.

Founded in 1981, we opened our doors on March 1, 1988, after years of extensive renovations that transformed the historic Turtle Creek Pump Station into the impactful arts center it is today.

For nearly 40 years, we've championed the North Texas arts community by offering affordable space, resources, and training that help local artists and arts organizations thrive. Each week, an average of 1,300 visitors, including artists, organizations, and audience members, gather at the Sammons Center to create and experience art. 

Our Cultural Community Resources program supports more than 100 artists and arts organizations annually, including 18 resident groups, 35+ virtual office partners, and many seasonal facility clients. Our partners receive access to high-quality rehearsal, meeting, office, and performance space, often at less than one-third of market rates, and frequently use our free or low-cost amenities such as the technology center, phone services, mailboxes, fully equipped catering kitchen, user-friendly event production equipment, and professional development trainings, all tailored to the specific needs of up-and-coming artists. 

Without our facility and its essential services, many small artists and arts groups would no longer be able to sustain their current work and would likely have to close their doors. In total, our building was the cultural hub for 1,098 events last year attended by over 63,000 individuals, not including the thousands touched by the work of our partners, whose impact extends far beyond the Sammons Center itself.

In addition to providing accessible resources to the arts community, we produce two signature concert series for North Texas audiences, Sammons Jazz and Sammons Cabaret, spotlighting the region's exceptional, world-class musical talent. Our Sammons community is here not only to serve artists, but also to actively contribute to the local arts ecosystem and economy. In the past year alone, the Center promoted 1,239 local performance events, sold 1,540 tickets to Sammons concerts, and paid $90,148 in artist fees to ensure equitable compensation for all performers.
