$60,000 Goal

30 years of WONDER.

Discover WONDER. Double your Impact.

Think back to the first time nature took your breath away.

That's WONDER.

Every year, more than 14,000 students experience that same WONDER at River Legacy. For many, it's their very first walk in the woods—the moment they discover that nature isn't just something to learn about...it's something to love.

Because people protect what they love.

For 30 years, River Legacy Foundation has inspired children, families, and our community to discover, explore, and protect the Trinity River and its surrounding natural areas through immersive STEM learning, unforgettable encounters with more than 100 Animal Ambassadors, and 1,300 acres of beautiful parkland.

Today, you can give another child their first moment of WONDER.

Thanks to our generous $30,000 Matching Challenge, every gift has twice the impact—creating more first moments of WONDER and inspiring the next generation of environmental stewards.

Discover WONDER. Double Your Impact.

You're invited to celebrate 30  years of WONDER at River Legacy Nature Center.

Giving Activity

Mission

To educate and inspire environmental stewardship that protects the Trinity River and surrounding natural areas.

Young learners hear the rustling of leaves when they hike in the woods. They meet animal ambassadors (ferrets, snakes, and turtles, oh my!) They WONDER at the decomposers on the forest floor! These experiences are WONDER-filled and WONDERrful! Your donation makes these moments of WONDER possible. We could not do all this without you!

Needs

We need your help:

Animal Ambassador Care – Hunny Bunny Needs Your Help - $1000+ Hunny Bunny, one of our most beloved rabbits, recently survived a life-threatening emergency with the help of an ER visit and ongoing medical care. Covering these costs is part of what it takes to provide the highest-quality care for the more than 100 animal ambassadors who call the Nature Center home. These animals are important and engaging teachers for thousands of students and visitors each year. Please help Hunny Bunny.

Classroom Furniture – $1,000 As we approach our 30th anniversary, much of our Nature School furniture is also just as old. Please help update classroom furniture to give young learners the best learning environment possible.

Trail Markers – $500 - These small but powerful markers will connect our Discovery Trail to our educational apps. Please help turn every hike into an interactive learning adventure.

Every child who learns, every family who discovers, and every animal who thrives here is thanks to people like you.
